Featured Development: Stonepine
Located along Highway 8 west of Calgary, this unique development was designed in three tiers up an incline, each of which offers spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains. Stonepine is a beautiful and quiet gated community of 92 lots in quarter to half acres nestled in the foothills of Elbow Valley.
Stonepine is one of the few subdivisions in Rockyview County connected to the City of Calgary’s sewage system. The project was originally approved with the proposal of a sewage treatment facility with discharge into the Elbow River. This expensive option would have taken several further years to obtain approvals for and to be constructed. Jubilee Engineering was able to negotiate with the City of Calgary to auger under Highway 8 to connect to an existing sanitary line, which was part of the city’s sanitary sewage system. This provided an economical and environmentally sound solution in lieu of a sewage treatment plant.
We also assisted in negotiations which permitted the development of a water treatment facility whose supply comes from an intake into the Elbow River. This facility was designed by Jubilee and is shared with the adjacent Glencoe Golf and Country Club.
Overall, Jubilee Engineering’s involvement in the Stonepine Development facilitated several efficient, environmentally sound, and cost-effective solutions that were delivered in a timely fashion.
